WCS Closing Plenary
The WCS Closing Plenary is a platform for most senior-level leaders from government, non-government and business sectors to share their views on the pathways forward for creating and implementing system-wide urban solutions that will deliver on more liveable and sustainable cities of the future.
Theme: Integrated Urban Strategies for Liveable and Sustainable Cities
The unprecedented rates of urbanization and population explosion will place immense pressures on cities as centres of overconsumption, congestion and pollution.
Yet, cities need not be the problem; rather, a fundamental paradigm shift is necessary to view cities as potential and strategic vehicles for resource-optimization, and engines of innovation and sustainable growth. With smarter and greener technology, cities can aim to reduce their carbon footprint significantly through accessible, affordable and sustainable integrated urban solutions, to achieve a high quality of life and a more inclusive community for all.
